PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is to pay a visit to China later this month as part of a group of 10 national leaders chosen for high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Rowley will also do a State visit to the Asian country, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young has announced.

He said that, Rowley will travel to Beijing for the November 30-December 3 meeting and then lead a delegation to the State visit from December 4 to 9.

“The Chinese government recognises the importance Trinidad and Tobago is playing in the region,” Young said, adding that the “government is re-building its relationship with countries and within CARICOM (Caribbean Community).

“So this invitation is China’s recognition of Trinidad and Tobago,” he added. – CMC
