On Saturday March 25, 2023, Lions and Leos of the Richmond Hill-South Ozone Park Lions Club (RHSOPLC) gathered at the Lefferts Library in Queens, New York, to make a presentation of medical supplies to the Government and people of Haiti.

The people of Haiti who have been dealing with natural disasters and the effects of internal civil conflicts, are also suffering acute shortages of basic medical supplies.
The RHSOPLC’s Second Vice President, Lion Devindra Persaud, PMJF, and his family assisted the Club to source a quantity of medical supplies which were presented to the Cede Copa, Inc., an NGO operating in Haiti, whose associate Ms. Carole Prinston was on hand to receive the shipment.

The shipment, which was worth over one hundred thousand dollars, was comprised of IV supplies, including starter Kits & IV tubing sets, antibiotics, diabetic medication, disinfectant wipes, COVID-19 Kits, vitamins, and wound care supplies.

Ms. Prinston thanked the Club for its generous presentation and stated that the supplies would be distributed to hospitals and local health centers in Haiti.

This was the second such shipment of medical supplies made to a foreign country by the RHSOP Lions Club, the first having been made to the African country of Gambia two years ago.

The Lions and Leos of the RHSOP Club are committed to service wherever there is a need, in keeping with the philosophy of Lionism, and inspired by the leadership team of District 20-K1, led by District Governor Ingrid Andrews-Campbell, 1st Vice District Governor Antonio Robles, and 2nd Vice District Governor Romeo Hitlall.
