Police Probe Death of Former Civil Aviation Authority Chairman

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Sept 24, CMC –Police are probing the death of the former chairman of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) , Hugh Denbow who died at hospital after he had been found hours earlier at his home with his hands, feet and neck tied together in the kitchen area.

He was found after several calls to his home went unanswered since Saturday.

Denbow had been transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he succumbed on Monday night while receiving medical attention.

Former public workers minister, Robeson Benn, speaking on a local radio station, said that Denbow’s death was “deeply disturbing and a very sad event.

“I think he was still serving his country by giving assistance to the industry,” Benn told radio listeners, adding that Denbow was always “coming with ideas about how we can continue to improve the industry”. – CMC
