RICHMOND HILL, QUEENS, NY — The new team of office-bearers of the Richmond Hill-Ozone Park Lions Club for the year 2018-2019 was installed on Monday, July 9th, at a ceremony held at the Villa Russo in Richmond Hill, Queens.
The new board was officially sworn in by first Vice District Governor Deborah Harrison, Past District Governor Ozzie Torres and Past District Governor Mellissa Torres.
Lion Romeo Hitlall took the oath of office as the new President, taking over from Lion Indarjeet Paul.
Other members of the Executive Committee are: Lion Shaun Charles – 1st Vice President; Lion Motie Phanisnaraine – 2nd Vice President; Lion Vishal Hardowar – Secretary; Lion Diana Allie – Asst. Secretary; Lion Naidoo Veerapen – Treasurer; Lion Fidel Hitlall – Asst. Treasurer; Lion Devi Lalu – Membership Chairperson; Lion Gerrome Awad – Asst. Membership Chairperson; Lion Stanley Raj – Public Relations Officer; Lion Quinn Rawh – Tail Twister; Lion Hushana Foley – Lion Tamer; Lion Mich Budhram – 1 Yr Board of Director; and Lion Kimberlery Persaud – 1 Yr Board of Director.
The new board of the Leos Club (the youth arm) was also installed, and includes: Leo Aruna Budhram – President; Leo Jada Ractoo – Vice President; Leo Simran Bahl – Secretary; Leo Chelsea Umrow – Treasurer; Leo Gabriella Ali – Tail Twister; and Leo Jasmine Hitlall – Member.
Jasmine was also sworn in as a Lion, making the transition from a Leo, and pledging to continue to mentor members of the youth arm.
At the ceremony, scholarships of $1000 each were presented to Jasmine and Gabriella.
