Man on the Run After Chopping Common Law Wife to Death

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Oct 6, CMC – Police have launched a search for a man who reportedly killed his common-law-wife during an early morning argument on Tuesday.

Police said that Claravel Johnson, 28, a vendor from the capital, Georgetown, was chopped on her right foot behind her knee with a cutlass.

They said the two were involved in an argument and that the woman was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by neighbours where she died while receiving treatment.

The police havegiven no details of the man being sought.
