The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), in collaboration with the Muslim American Society (MAS), held it’s 48th Annual Convention at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland from Friday May 27 to May 29. More then 25,000 persons were in attendance. Organizers described it as the biggest ICNA convention ever.
The theme of the convention was “Faith, Family and Future”. The event featured sessions and workshops to highlight this theme. There were more than 100 inspirational speakers, interactive sessions, kids and youth activities, bazaar, and entertainment featuring Quranic recitation, comedy and a performance by recording artist Siedd who wowed the crowd on day three.
In his message, Dr Mohsin Ansari, Ameer (leader) of ICNA said, “Your organization, ICNA, strives for collective success. Our goal is to help strengthen families and their relationships among themselves and with Allah (SWT). The theme of the 48th Annual Convention is ‘Faith, Family and Future.’ There will be several sessions and workshops to highlight this theme and help us improve and strengthen ourselves and the moral values of our society.”
“With the trust of the American Muslim community, ICNA’s work has expanded more than we could have ever expected. So many of ICNA’s programs, including Community Services, Da’wah, Tarbiyah, Sisters Division, Revert Support, Youth Development and Social Justice programs are attended and supported by thousands of Muslims and have been vital to the Muslim Community in this country,” Dr. Ansari said.
He added, “I want to take this moment especially to invite you to join hands with us. ICNA is a versatile organization. Whatever your interests are, and in whatever capacity you feel you can offer to our community, you will find ICNA to be a great bridge for you.”
