GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The bodies of two men were recovered late Sunday after the boat in which they were travelling capsized in the Mazaruni River, in the Essequibo on Friday
Police said the bodies of Jeffery Dirwar, 26, and another man identified only as “Douglas” were recovered by rescue teams Sunday following the accident.
Media reports said that the boat in which they were transporting a dredge capsized and that three other persons managed to escape by swimming ashore.
The police said they have since launched an investigation into the accident. – CMC
