Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and US Military to Conduct Training Exercises

To Exchange Best Practices in Various Areas of Expertise

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – The United States Embassy here says that members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) and the US military will be working together on training exercises over the next three weeks.

The Embassy says that the Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) exercises will commence in Port of Spain, starting on Friday, to August 16.

The training, that will be facilitated by United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), is part of a series of engagements with the TTDF that provide opportunities for the twin island republic and US elite units to work together, learn from each other, and strengthen relationships.

The embassy says that the TTDF and their US Special Operations elite unit counterparts will be training throughout the country and exchanging best practices in various areas of expertise.

The JCETs have been conducted regularly in Trinidad and Tobago for several years. – CMC
