The following is a message from Candidate for City Council District 28, Richard David:
Thank you for voting on Tuesday, Sept. 12, and for supporting our campaign. I’m humbled by the overwhelming interest in improving our quality of life and demanding funding return to the district. While we did not achieve our goal of winning, we made strong progress. I’m proud we ran a campaign based on inclusion, representing all the diverse communities of our district – bringing together Rochdale Village and Richmond Hill, South Jamaica and South Ozone Park. We must continue to demand that the next Council Member provide fair representation and resources to communities on both sides of the Van Wyck.
For my Guyanese, Indo-Caribbean and South Asian supporters who still have no voice in the NYC Council, thank you for coming out in record numbers and in unity. I’m sorry to have let you down. Please forgive me if I made any mistakes on this campaign. I will continue to advocate for our rights and I hope you will too. We must never give up.
My deepest appreciation for giving me a chance. I’m excited to see how we will build on the progress we have made. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity.
