Police believe that Bibi Ramjit of West Bank Demerara was killed between late on Sunday.

They said Monday that a 59-year-old farmer had gone to the grocery store to buy eddoes from the deceased and told lawmen that she did not have change for his GUY$5,000 note. He said he had made a promise to return later and pay her.

Two hours later, the man returned to the shop and police said he noticed the shop door and the backdoor to the upstairs flat was open.
